Heat pump rebates by province and territory
Each hub lists open provincial programmes plus that province's official income thresholds for the federal rebate. The federal government said in October that its rebate combines with provincial programmes. Quebec is not covered.
- Ontario
Ontario has one of Canada's strongest provincial heat pump rebates through Home Renovation Savings, which can be combined with the federal National Heat Pump Rebate. - British Columbia
BC has utility and provincial rebates, but CleanBC's Energy Savings Program cut several heat pump rebates on 6 July 2026. - Alberta
Alberta has no province-wide heat pump rebate that we could find, so the federal rebate may be the main source of support. - Saskatchewan
We could not find a current Saskatchewan heat pump rebate. SaskPower's retrofit rebate is reported to cover building-envelope upgrades, not heat pumps. - Manitoba
Efficiency Manitoba offers a rebate for cold-climate air-source heat pumps installed by a registered contractor. - New Brunswick
NB Power's SaveEnergyNB programmes still offer heat pump rebates and free upgrades for lower-income households. - Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia's federal oil-to-heat-pump stream has closed, but Efficiency Nova Scotia still offers income-based and assessment-based support. - Prince Edward Island
PEI's general heat pump rebates ended on 15 April 2026 and its free heat pump programme is closed, so the federal rebate is the main new support. - Newfoundland and Labrador
Oil-heated homes in Newfoundland and Labrador can get one of the largest incentives in Canada through TakeCharge's Oil to Electric programme. - Yukon
Yukon offers a rebate of 50% of eligible heat pump costs plus a larger income-tested programme. - Northwest Territories
The Arctic Energy Alliance runs energy-efficiency and renewable programmes; we did not find a general air-source heat pump rebate. - Nunavut
We found no heat pump rebate in Nunavut. Homes were ineligible for the federal oil-to-heat-pump programme because they are not on an integrated grid.
